Benedictine University's Matt Fleming and Concordia University Chicago's Chelsee Wilson have been named the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference Men's and Women's Indoor Track & Field Student-Athletes of the Week for events of Jan. 16-22, as selected by the league's sports information directors.
Fleming (Chicago, Illinois) logged the second-best long jump in the nation at 7.35 meters behind a mark from his teammate earlier this season with the winning distance at the NCAA/NAIA Challenge hosted by Olivet Nazarene. He also took sixth in the 60-meter dash with a time of 7.05 seconds.
Wilson (Shawneetown, Ill.) won the 400 meters at University of Wisconsin-Parkside's Rangers Invite. Her time of 59.76 seconds is currently first in the NACC and 19th nationally. The finish broke the former school record by three seconds and is just 0.94 off the conference mark.
