Benedictine University's Michael Blaszczyk has been named the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference Men's Basketball Student-Athlete of the Week for events of Jan. 30-Feb. 5, as selected by the league's sports information directors.
This marks his second straight weekly honor.
Blaszczyk (Naperville, Illinois) posted a triple-double against Aurora University Tuesday and neared another in a win over Wisconsin Lutheran College Saturday as the No. 18 Eagles posted a 3-0 week to clinch the top seed and a share of a third straight NACC title. The senior guard had 12 points, 11 rebounds, and 10 assists against Aurora to tally the third triple-double in the conference this season and the first for Benedictine in recent history. He then notched 20 points in a win over Marian University Thursday with five boards and four assists before finishing the week with 11 points, 10 rebounds and eight assists in dispatching Wisconsin Lutheran, completing a stretch of six games in 13 days while securing a seventh consecutive win.
