MILWAUKEE, Wis. (Sept. 5, 2018) --- Dominican University freshman Jonathan Hernandez (offense) and Rockford University senior Anthony Beck (defense) have been named the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) Men's Soccer Scholar-Athletes of the Week for the week of August 27-September 2, as selected by the league's sports information directors.
Hernandez (Addison, Ill.), a forward, tallied two goals and three assists in his first two collegiate games to help Dominican to a 2-0 start to the 2018 campaign. He netted a pair of first-half goals and added an assist in the second half in the Stars' 9-0 season-opening victory over Illinois College August 31. The rookie then assisted on both of Dominican's goals in Sunday's 2-0 win over Fontbonne.
Beck (Fishers, Ind.), a goalkeeper, recorded Rockford's second shutout in as many matches this season Sunday in the Regents' 2-0 win at Ripon. He played the full 90 minutes in goal, making five saves to improve to 1-0-0 overall and earn his first shutout of the year.
