AURORA, Illinois -- Aurora University and the Spartan athletic department announced the addition of Jake Lipka to the staff as the next head coach of the Spartan men's tennis program.

Lipka was a four-year member of the Spartan men's tennis program including three seasons as a captain. Additionally, he was a two-time Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference All-Conference recipient and helped the men's team reach the NACC Tournament for the first time in four years. Lipka graduated from AU with a bachelor's degree in business administration and a minor in coaching.

"We are excited to have Jake on board to lead our men's tennis program and are confident that he can continue to build on the success of last year's team," said Associate Director of Athletics for Student-Athlete Wellbeing Nicki Pieart. "Jake is an alum of the program and his knowledge of the conference, his passion for AU tennis and his experience as a coach and tennis pro make him an excellent fit for the position."

Lipka is originally from LaSalle-Peru, Illinois and graduated from LaSalle-Peru High School in 2013. He also is the head tennis professional at Geneva Golf Club where he leads programs for all ages and serves as a tennis professional at the Fox Valley Park District Vaughan Athletic Center.
