MSOE's Emily Snow and Lorrin Pondo have been named the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference Position Player and Pitching Softball Student-Athletes of the Week for events of Feb. 26-Mar. 4, as selected by the league's sports information directors.
Snow (Long Beach, Calif.) batted .455 (15-for-33) with a .514 on-base percentage and slugged .848 in 10 games in Florida last week. The junior catcher/third baseman reached base in all 10 games (extending her streak to 47 games) and had a hit in each of the last nine. She finished with 10 doubles, 10 runs, and 11 RBIs.
Pondo (Bolingbrook, Ill.) appeared in 9-of-10 games last week with five starts and four relief appearances. The rookie went 5-3 with a save and 1.62 ERA as she struck out 42 in 43.1 innings. She threw a no-hitter against Houghton College with 10 Ks and a walk as the lone run scored on an error and two groundouts. Pondo also shut out Capital University with three hits, five Ks, and no walks and earned a save against Wheaton College (Ill.).
