Benedictine University's Courtney Grasz and Marian University's Paige Rauhut have been named the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference Position Player and Pitching Softball Student-Athletes of the Week for events of April 23-29, as selected by the league's sports information directors.
Grasz (Chicago, Ill.) hit safely in every game on the week as Benedictine claimed a share of the conference title. The senior infielder totaled 18 hits while batting .514 with a homer and 15 RBIs. She homered and drove home four in a game-one win over Concordia University Chicago and ended the week with a three-hit, four-RBI performance against Lakeland University. Grasz posted multi-hit games in six of the nine played.
Rauhut (McKenry, Ill.) went 4-1 on the week tossing 32.2 innings as she led Marian to a share of their first NACC title. The sophomore right-hander closed out the week with a 2.57 earned run average, tossed four complete games and tied a single-season Sabres record with her third save on the year. She opened the week with her third shutout of the season and tossed a four-hitter against CUC only allowing one run. Rauhut also closed out the week with 20 punch outs, including nine against Aurora University.
