KENOSHA, Wis. -- Benedictine University won its third straight Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference men's indoor track & field championship Sunday at Tarble Athletic and Recreation Center.
The Eagles won the 2018 title with a team score of 212, followed by Aurora University (150), Concordia University Wisconsin (84), Concordia University Chicago (43), MSOE (43), Edgewood College (32), Rockford University (31), Wisconsin Lutheran College (22), Lakeland University (6) and Marian University (0).
Benedictine swept the major awards led by Matt Fleming who was named Athlete of the Meet. He won the long jump (7.08 meters) and finished third in the 200 (22.79).
Joe Chavez and Jordan Johnson were named co-Track Athletes of the Meet. Chavez won the 5,000 (15:54.54) and was second in the 3,000, while Johnson won both the 55-meter dash with a new NACC record (6.39) and the 200 with a new NACC Championship record (22.18).
Luther Newburn was named Field Athlete of the Meet as he won both the high jump (1.94) and the triple jump with a new NACC Championship record (14.92).
DJ Anderson was named Freshman of the Meet, while Kevin Patterson was voted Coach of the Meet be his peers.
