Illinois Tech's Halicka Named NACC Women's Tennis Student-Athlete of the Week

MILWAUKEE, Wis. (Sept. 5, 2018) --- Illinois Institute of Technology senior Weronika Halicka (Lodz, Poland) has been named the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) Women's Tennis Student-Athlete of the Week for matches played August 25-September 2, as selected by the league's sports information directors.

Halicka has been dominant thus far, going 3-0 at No. 1 singles and pairing with Morgan Colbert to post a 4-0 mark at No. 1 doubles, while leading the Scarlet Hawks to victories in their first four duals of the season. 

She posted a 6-0, 6-2 win over Thomas More's Nicole Capodagli, topped Millikin's Morgan Bettner by a 6-0, 6-1 score, and defeated Olivet Nazarene's Susana Martinez, 6-0, 6-3. In doubles, she and Colbert posted a trio of 8-1 victories (Thomas More, Millikin, Roosevelt), while topping Olivet Nazarene by an 8-3 score.
