Diemer, a junior forward, was a key contributing factor in Rockford's season-opening wins over Minnesota-Morris and Maranatha Baptist. He opened the year with a double-double against Minnesota Morris, scoring 18 points, grabbing 13 rebounds, and dishing out a pair of assists in an 87-52 victory. Diemer followed that up with 19 points on 7-of-10 shooting, five rebounds, two steals, and an assist in a 105-62 win at Maranatha. For the week, he averaged 18.5 points, 9.0 rebounds, 1.5 assists and 1.0 steal as the Regents did not trail in either game and won by an average margin of 39.0 points.
