Schermacher, a freshman, won the heptathlon at the UW-Whitewater Invitational this past weekend with a total of 4,650 points, besting several WIAC competitors in the process. His score currently ranks 16th on the NCAA Division III performance list. It was Schermacher's first time competing in a multi-event competition.
