Matenaer, a junior infielder, had a monster day at the plate Sunday as Marian defeated Northland (6-2) and UW-Stevens Point (10-5) to open the season. She went 3-for-4 in each game with five of her six hits going for extra bases. Matenaer had a double, a home run, and three RBIs in the win over Northland, then had a double, two home runs, and drew a walk while driving in five against UW-Stevens Point.
