Colon Maldonado, a junior, got caught in the chaos at the 2023 NACC Cross Country Championships, running extra distance but found her way to the front of the pack to win the individual championship. She defeated the field with a time of 23:10.4. She is the first Aurora woman to win the conference championship since 2016. After being led off course, she worked her way up through the pack, taking the lead two miles into the race.
