Maranell, a freshman, had an impressive debut for St. Norbert in the pentathlon at last Friday's UW-Oshkosh Early Bird Open and Multi, finishing third overall with 3,041 points. Maranell, whose point total was the best ever for a St. Norbert freshman, currently ranks eighth on the current NCAA Division III performance list. She shared honors for the top clearance in the high jump with a leap of 1.59 meters (5-2 1/2) and was the top-scoring NACC competitor in the shot put (third, 10.23m; 33-6 3/4) and long jump (fourth, 4.83m; 15-10 1/4). Maranell posted her top single-event point total in the 60-meter hurdles, scoring 740 points with a time of 9.85 seconds.
