Schermacher, a sophomore, had a banner weekend for St. Norbert at the UW-Oshkosh Open and Multi. Schermacher set a St. Norbert record by becoming the first Green Knight to surpass 5,000 points in the heptathlon, scoring 5,062 points. He had 820 points in his best event in the 60-meter hurdles, timing 8.67 seconds, and added 790 points in the pole vault, clearing 4.60 meters (15-1). Schermacher added 788 points in the long jump (6.89m; 22-7 1/4) and 785 points in the 60 dash (7.28). Schermacher is currently fourth on the NCAA Division III performance list in the heptathlon.
