Colon Maldonado, a junior, broke her own NACC and Aurora records in the 3,000-meter run with a blistering time of 9:43.34 at the 2024 Blue Demon Alumni Classic hosted by DePaul University. She finished seventh in the race littered with NCAA Division I competitors. Colon Maldonado's time bettered her previous record (9:57.71) set on Jan. 19 by 14 seconds. In the span of eight days, Colon Maldonado dropped 30.05 seconds off the previous NACC record. Her performance currently ranks fourth in NCAA Division III.
