Schermacher, a sophomore, was named NACC Men's Field Athlete of the Year at the 2024 NACC Indoor Track and Field Championships. He posted four podium finishes for St. Norbert, including three in the field events, as the Green Knights won the men's team title. Schermacher won the high jump after clearing 2.00 meters (6-6 3/4), then took second to teammate Aiden Anderson in the pole vault on a tiebreaker, and third in the long jump after clearing 6.76 meters (22-2 1/4). In the pole vault, both Schermacher and Anderson cleared 4.51 meters (14-9 1/2), but Anderson needed just one attempt to Schermacher's three. On the track, he placed second in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 8.50 seconds.
