Connaughty, a senior, went 4-1 in the opening weekend for Edgewood College women’s tennis. Against Cornell College, she paired with Evelyn Taylor for a 6-1 win at No. 1 doubles, then posted a 1-6, 7-6 (4), 6-0 win at No. 4 singles to provide the clinching team point in the 4-3 victory over the Rams. Connaughty added a 7-6 (5), 6-1 win at No. 4 singles to help the Eagles to a 7-0 sweep of UW-Stout and capped off her weekend with a 6-2 win at No. 2 doubles with partner Hattie Plenty to help Edgewood defeat Buena Vista, 7-0.
