Saavedra, a junior, went 4-0 last week as MSOE posted victories over Illinois College (7-0) and NACC preseason favorite Illinois Tech (4-3). Competing at No. 1 singles, he defeated Illinois College's Tejas Zala (6-0, 6-0), and Illinois Tech's Pedro Roca (6-4, 7-5). Saavedra also paired with Joe Chong at No. 1 doubles for victories over Illinois College (6-4) and MSOE (7-6 [3]).
