MILWAUKEE, Wis. (naccsports.org) --- Concordia University Wisconsin's
Justice Kaneta (Brighton, Colo.), Lakeland University's
Robby Michael (Sheboygan, Wis.), and Wisconsin Lutheran College's
Arnulfo Ortega (Laredo, Texas) have been named Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) Football Student-Athletes of the Week for the week of Oct. 10-16, 2022, as selected by the league's athletics communications professionals.
Offense --- Robby Michael, Fr., QB, Lakeland University
Michael, a freshman quarterback, rushed for 232 yards and three touchdowns and also passed for 214 yards and two scores, in all accounting for 446 yards of offense as Lakeland defeated Concordia Chicago, 43-23, for its first win of season. Michael scored on runs of 6, 1, and 74 yards, and hooked up with Chris Crawford on touchdown passes of 7 and 18 yards.
Defense --- Justice Kaneta, So., LB, Concordia University Wisconsin
Kaneta, a sophomore linebacker, led the Falcons with 12 tackles in a 28-21 overtime victory at St. Norbert. He had 11 solo stops, including three tackles for loss and two sacks (one solo). Kaneta also forced (and recovered) two fumbles, including the game-winning turnover in overtime.
Special Teams --- Arnulfo Ortega, So., PK, Wisconsin Lutheran College
Ortega, a sophomore placekicker, went 7-for-7 on PATs, made his only field goal attempt, and had three touchbacks in the Warriors' 52-35 win over Rockford. He made it a two-possession game midway through the fourth quarter when he made his sixth field goal of the season, a 23-yarder.
