Michael Purkey (Woodstock, Ill.) have been named Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) Football Student-Athletes of the Week for the week of Oct. 30-Nov. 5, 2023, as selected by the league's athletics communications professionals.
Offense --- Michael Purkey, sr., QB, Concordia University Wisconsin
Purkey, a senior quarterback, completed 19 of 21 passes for 271 yards and four touchdowns (4, 20, 29, 24) in Concordia Wisconsin's 66-21 victory over Rockford. After being sacked on the first offensive play of the game, throwing an interception on the second, and tossing an incomplete pass on his first attempt of CUW's next drive, he finished the game with 19 consecutive completions. Purkey also carried the ball three times for 16 yards.
Defense --- Jaylen Jordan, jr., DT, Aurora University
Jordan, a junior defensive tackle, led an Aurora defense that pitched a first-half shutout while allowing the Spartan offense to get going after a slow start. He would finish the day with seven tackles (two solos), including two for loss and a quarterback sack. Jordan also had another quarterback hurry in a 70-14 Aurora victory over Lakeland.
Special Teams --- Logan Navis, fr., PK, Concordia University Wisconsin
Navis, a freshman placekicker, was a perfect 9-for-9 in extra-point opportunities and kicked a 22-yard field goal in a 66-21 Concordia Wisconsin win over Rockford. He also kicked off three times, averaging 42.0 yards per kick.
