WEST CHICAGO, Ill. (naccsports.org) --- Aurora University posted a team total of 307 Sunday to extend its lead over St. Norbert College to 10 strokes after 36 holes at the 2025 Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) Women's Golf Championships.
The Spartans posted five rounds of 78 or better on the par-71, 5,607-yard layout at St. Andrews Golf and Country Club en route to the 307 total, falling one stroke short of matching the 18-hole championship record of 306 set by Aurora during last year's final round.
Thanpimol Tharpanawongwech led the way with a 4-over-par 75, followed by
Anna Coccia with a 76, and the trio of
Michelle Beggs, Megan Kobelt, and
Maddie Pink with matching 78s.
St. Norbert sits second overall with a 639 total. The Green Knights shaved 11 strokes off their day one score of 325 to gain some separation from third-place Marian University headed into the final round. The Sabres, who entered the day tied with St. Norbert for second place, posted a 325 total for the second consecutive day and sit on 650 through 36 holes. Milwaukee School of Engineering is fourth at 663 overall (340-323) and will join the top three teams in Monday's featured foursomes.
Edgewood University (362-358--720) is fifth, just ahead of Concordia University Wisconsin (371-352--723) and Benedictine University (362-366--728), while Wisconsin Lutheran College (396-379--775) and Alverno College (585-550--1,135) both posted gains in Sunday's second round and sit eighth and ninth overall.
Marian's
Yinan Lu and St. Norbert's
Emma Laundrie, who entered the day tied for the medalist lead, both shot 4-over 75s and will remain tied headed into Monday's final round with 151 totals. They lead the trio of Aurora's Coccia and Tharpanawongwech and St. Norbert's
Vivien Ninham by four strokes. Aurora's Michelle Beggs (158) is sixth overall with a 158 total, followed by Aurora's Megan Kobelt and MSOE's
Madison Engebose (both 161) in seventh, Marian's
Katelyn Bucciarelli (163) in ninth, and Aurora's Maddie Pink and Edgewood's
Grace Schomin (both 164) are tied for 10th.
The championship will conclude with 18 holes on Monday. The top four teams - Aurora, St. Norbert, Marian, and MSOE - will start off the No. 1 tee in a wave beginning at 9 a.m. The remainder of the field will utilize a shotgun start off the back nine beginning at 9:15 a.m.
The tournament champion will receive the NACC's automatic berth in the 2026 NCAA Division III Women's Golf Championships slated for May 19-22, 2026, at Desert Willow Golf Resort in Palm Desert, California.
