Aurora's Chaney Named AP Second-Team All-American

AURORA, Illinois --- Postseason recognition continues to roll in for the Aurora University junior defensive lineman JP Chaney when the Associated Press (AP) announced its 2025 NCAA Division III All-American Teams Wednesday, Dec. 18. 

Chaney was earlier named a 2025 All-Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference First Team selection and a D3football.com All-Region first-team recipient. 

Chaney led the Aurora defense with 14.0 sacks, 28.0 tackles for loss, 13 quarterback hurries, 70 tackles, four forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries, one blocked kick and two pass break-ups. His tackles for loss and his sacks per game both rank among the tops nationally.

In his career, Chaney is now an All-American (2025 AP and 2025 pre-season D3football.com), a two-time D3football.com All-Region performer and two-time All-NACC selection.

Aurora finished 8-3 overall and second in the NACC with a 6-2 mark, capping the year with a win in the 2025 SmileyCookie.com Lakefront Bowl.
