Lake Forest Wraps Up NACC Women's Lacrosse Title; NACC Tournament Field Set

MILWAUKEE, Wis. (naccsports.org) --- Lake Forest College clinched sole possession of its first Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) women's lacrosse title with a commanding 28-3 win over Illinois Institute of Technology Wednesday at Stuart Field in Chicago.

The Foresters (12-4 overall), in their first year of NACC competition, closed the league slate with a perfect 9-0 mark and secured the top seed in the upcoming NACC Women's Lacrosse Tournament.

Aurora University (11-6 overall), which saw its streak of four straight NACC titles snapped, earned the No. 2 seed in the tournament with an 8-1 mark. The Spartans lone loss in league play came to the Foresters by a 13-8 margin on April 16.

As the top two seeds, Lake Forest and Aurora secured first-round byes and will host semifinal matches on Wednesday, April 30.

The tournament begins with two first-round matches on Saturday, April 26. No. 3-seed Edgewood College (8-7, 7-2 NACC) will host No. 6-seed Beloit College (7-6, 4-5 NACC) at noon with the winner to face Aurora. Lake Forest awaits the winner of a matchup featuring No. 4-seed Cornell College (7-8, 5-4 NACC) and No. 5-seed Milwaukee School of Engineering (5-11, 5-4 NACC). The Rams and Raiders will meet at 1 p.m. Saturday in Mount Vernon, Iowa.

Wednesday's semifinal winners advance to the tournament final, which will be held Saturday, May 3, at the highest-remaining seed. The tournament champion receives the NACC's automatic berth in the 2025 NCAA Division III Women's Lacrosse Championship.

Aurora is the four-time defending tournament champion.
