BenU's Betevis Earns ABCA/Rawlings Gold Glove Honor, Leads Five on Region All-Defensive Team

GREENSBORO, N.C. --- The American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) has announced its NCAA Division III regional all-defensive teams and national Rawlings Gold Glove Award winners for the 2025 season.

The Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) secured a majority of the honors on the Region 8 All-Defensive Team with five out of nine selections. Benedictine University landed two players - senior first baseman Brennan Fisher and senior outfielder George Betevis - on the team. The BenU pair were joined by Dominican University junior outfielder Zach Helein, Edgewood College graduate outfielder Terry Tolliver Jr., and Marian University senior third baseman Logan Rademan. This is the second consecutive year that Helein has been named to the Region 8 All-Defensive Team.

Additionally, Betevis was one of nine NCAA Division III student-athletes named to the 2025 ABCA/Rawlings Gold Glove Team. It is the second consecutive year that a Benedictine student-athlete has been named to the Gold Glove Team as Ryan Doubek was named to the 2024 team at second base.

The teams are voted on by members of the American Baseball Coaches Association and the process is led by the ABCA NCAA Division III All-America & Coach of the Year Committee.

The Chair of the ABCA NCAA Division III All-America & Coach of the Year Committee is Paul Hesse of the University of Mount Union. The committee also includes Brian Casey (U.S. Coast Guard Academy), Pete Egbert (Misericordia University), Dan Gomez (Western New England University), Ray Hedrick (Randolph-Macon College), Luke Johnson (North Park University), Scott Laverty (Chapman University), Yogi Lutz (Alvernia University), Nick Pontari (Russell Sage College) and Kevin Tomasiewicz (University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh).
