MILWAUKEE, Wis. (naccsports.org) --- Marian University freshman Samantha Smith (West Sacramento, Calif.) and Wisconsin Lutheran College sophomore Emma Adema (Sheboygan, Wis.) have been named Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) Women's Soccer Student-Athletes of the Week for the week of Aug. 29-31, 2025, as selected by the league's athletics communications professionals.

Defense --- Samantha Smith, Fr., GK, Marian University
Freshman Samantha Smith came up big in her debut as a Sabre posting a clean sheet against Augustana (Ill.) to lead Marian to a 1-0 victory.  She stopped all three shots she faced including the final shot that came with just 7:30 left to play.

Offense --- Emma Adema, So., MF, Wisconsin Lutheran College
Adema accounted for half of the Warriors’ goals in their season-opening weekend. The sophomore midfielder scored her first collegiate goal on Friday, August 29 in WLC’s 2-1 non-conference win over Ripon. She followed up with two goals in Wisconsin Lutheran’s 4-0 shutout win over Martin Luther on Sunday, August 31. Adema, who scored on three of her four shot attempts, surpassed her point total from her rookie campaign in just the first two games of the 2025 season.
