NACC Announces 2026 NACC Women's Tennis All-Conference Team, Major Awards

MILWAUKEE, Wis. (naccsports.org) --- The Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) has announced its major awards and all-conference team for the 2026 women's tennis season.

NACC Player of the Year honors were shared between Milwaukee School of Engineering sophomore Ana Clara Kamiyama and Concordia University Wisconsin freshman Jordin Popp, while Popp also claimed NACC Freshman of the Year honors. The league champion Falcons also claimed NACC Coaching Staff of the Year honors.

It is Kamiyama's second consecutive NACC Player of the Year honor.

All honors were voted on by the NACC's eight head women's tennis coaches.

Co-Player of the Year --- Ana Clara Kamiyama, so., Milwaukee School of Engineering
Kamiyama posted a 16-5 mark this fall, recording an 8-2 record in singles while pairing with Sadie Dakay to post an 8-3 mark in doubles. She posted two singles victories at the ITA Midwest Regional, advancing to the Round of 32. In duals, Kamiyama was 6-1 overall and a perfect 6-0 in league play - primarily at the No. 1 position.

In doubles play, Kamiyama and Dakay advanced to the round of 16 at the ITA regional with a 2-1 mark and combined to go 6-2 in duals at the No. 1 position, including 5-2 in league play.

Kamiyama is just the second MSOE student-athlete to be named NACC Player of the Year, joining Martina Fialova (2008). She is also the fifth NACC women's tennis player to win multiple Player of the Year awards after Concordia Wisconsin's Erin Hentrich (3 - 2006, 2007, 2009) and Ricki Budewitz (2 - 2022, 2023), Wisconsin Lutheran's Kaitlyn Strehlow (2 - 2011, 2012), and Alverno's Asia Butler-Yeo (2 - 2015, 2016).

Co-Player of the Year & Freshman of the Year --- Jordin Popp, fr., Concordia University Wisconsin
Popp posted a 16-3 record overall this fall, finishing 8-2 in singles play and pairing with Taylor Peterson for an 8-1 mark in doubles. In singles, she posted a 7-1 mark in duals at the No. 1 spot and a 6-1 record in NACC play with her only blemishes coming at the ITA regional and to Kamiyama in a third-set tiebreak during CUW's Oct. 3 dual at MSOE.

In doubles, Popp and Peterson's lone defeat came at the ITA regional. In duals, the pair were 8-0 overall and 7-0 in NACC play - all at the No. 1 position.

This is the seventh time a CUW student-athlete has been named NACC Player of the Year as Popp joins Hentrich (2006, 2007, 2009), Ashley Solberg (2017), and Budewitz (2022, 2023). She is also the sixth Falcon to be named NACC Freshman of the Year, joining Hentrich (2006), Strehlow (2009, at CUW), Solberg (2015), Budewitz (2018), and Sofia Buhr (2023), and is the fourth NACC student-athlete to be named Player of the Year and Freshman of the Year in the same season, joining Hentrich (2006), Benedictine's MaryClare Loughery (2010), and Kamiyama (2025).

Coaching Staff of the Year --- Concordia University Wisconsin (Ricki Budewitz, interim head coach)
Budewitz, the NACC's all-time leader in wins as a player, was named interim head coach at her alma mater in mid-August after serving as an assistant the past two seasons. Fielding a lineup that featured true freshman at the top three singles slots and at No. 1 doubles, she guided the Falcons to an 8-0 mark this fall and a perfect 7-0 record in league play to claim the program's 10th NACC title.

CUW went 36-6 in singles during league play while dropping only one doubles match (20-1).

Budewitz is assisted by Drew Van Fossen.

This is the seventh time a Concordia University Wisconsin head coach or staff has been recognized by the league's women's tennis coaches (2009, 2015-2017, 2022-2023, 2026).
