MSOE's Dopirak Sets Tournament Single-Game Scoring Mark

MILWAUKEE, Wis. (naccsports.org) --- Higher seeds won three of four games Tuesday night as the 2026 Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) Men's Basketball Tournament kicked off with quarterfinal play.

Top-seeded Milwaukee School of Engineering, No. 2 St. Norbert College, and No. 3 Aurora University all won home contests, while No. 5 Marian University upset No. 4 Concordia University Wisconsin.

Tuesday's four winners advance to Thursday's semifinal round where MSOE will host Marian and Aurora travels to St. Norbert. Both games are slated to tip off at 7 p.m.

No. 1 MSOE 99, No. 8 Lakeland 82
Mason Dopirak poured in a NACC Tournament-record 46 points on 15-of-22 shooting from the field to lead four Raiders in double figures as MSOE (19-7) posted a 99-82 victory over Lakeland at Hotchkin Arena in Milwaukee. Dopirak also pulled down a game-high nine rebounds, while recording two assists and two steals. Jonathan Burroughs scored 26 points, five assists, four steals, and three rebounds, while Chase Cummings added 11 points and Carson Cordelli 10. Dopirak bettered the tournament single-game scoring mark of 45 points posted by Concordia Wisconsin's Jordan Johnson against Wisconsin Lutheran in 2020.

Peyton Mrotek led the Muskies (9-17) with 25 points, while Jaxson Dillon and Asanjai Hunter added 21 points apiece.

No. 5 Marian 72, No. 4 Concordia Wisconsin 52
Marian (16-10) held Concordia Wisconsin to just three made field goals in the first half and raced out to 30-11 halftime lead en route to the upset victory at R. John Buuck Field House in Mequon. Derek Lindert led three Sabres in double figures, finishing with a game-high 27 points. Alex Vassilakis added 16 points, while Andrew Ayeni just missed a double-double with 11 points and nine rebounds.

Casey Verhagen led CUW (14-12) with 19 points, while Luke Eggemeyer chipped in 13 points and a team-high six rebounds. Logan Landers, who entered the game as the NACC's leading scorer at 26.2 points per game, was limited to just 10 minutes off the bench and was held scoreless.

No. 3 Aurora 94, No. 6 Benedictine 82
All five Aurora starters scored in double figures as the Spartans (21-5) posted a wire-to-wire victory over rival Benedictine. Cullen Rauls scored a team-high 23 points, while Devon Richardson added 22 points, 16 rebounds, and four blocked shots. Jeffery Hillmer and Mekhi Doby scored 17 points apiece and Juan Madrigal had 15.

The Eagles (10-16) were paced by Noah Mason's game-high 26 points and eight rebounds. Ryan Sammons added 15 points and Brandon McCoy had 14.

No. 2 St. Norbert 75, No. 7 Rockford 61
St. Norbert (20-6) shot 58.0 percent (29-of-50) from the field and held a 31-8 advantage in bench scoring as the Green Knights topped Rockford. Cam Lathos scored a team-high 15 points in just over 18 minutes off the bench while Connor Pytleski chipped in with 12 and Jaeden Grade added 10.

DeVon Oregon led Rockford (11-15) with a game-high 23 points, while Jaden Bell and Luke Stuckey added 11 apiece. Bell also pulled down a game-high nine boards.
