Dominican Sweeps MSOE for 2026 NACC Men's Volleyball Tournament Crown

MILWAUKEE, Wis. (naccsports.org) --- Second-seeded Dominican University swept top-seeded Milwaukee School of Engineering, 3-0, Sunday at Hotchkin Arena to win the 2026 Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) Men's Volleyball Tournament.

It was the fifth NACC Tournament victory for the Stars (22-5), who also capture the NACC's automatic berth in the 2026 NCAA Division III Men's Volleyball Championship.

The championship bracket will be revealed during a selection show at 9 a.m. CT Monday, April 13 live-streamed on NCAA.com. Ten teams will participate in a play-in on April 17 before the first round takes place on April 18.

#2 Dominican def. #1 MSOE, 3-0 (25-22, 25-18, 25-18)
Top-seeded MSOE (21-7), who survived a five-set slugfest with fourth-seeded Benedictine in Saturday's semifinal, came out firing on all cylinders in the championship match, jumping out to an 9-4 lead before Dominican was able to mount a response. The Stars countered with an 8-3 run of their own to knot the score at 12-12.

From there the teams traded the lead back and forth with the Raiders grabbing a 21-20 lead on a block by Hunter Carroll and Parker Rings. At that point, Austyn Rynberg subbed in for the Stars - a move that paid immediate dividends. Rynberg got the kill on the next point, sparking a 5-1 run to close out the set for Dominican.

The second set started fairly evenly with Dominican eventually pushing out to a 12-9 lead. MSOE responded with a 5-2 run to tie the set at 14-14 but were unable to keep pace with the visitors, who scored the next three points and 11 of the next 15 to grab the second set and a 2-0 lead overall. The Stars hit .567 in the second set alone, posting 17 kills without an error on 30 total attacks.

A 9-2 Dominican run midway through the third set broke a 9-9 tie, giving the Stars an 18-11 advantage. The Raiders scored six of the next 10 points to cut the Dominican lead to five points at 22-17. An MSOE service error and a Landon Kassulke service ace left the Stars with match point. The Raiders erased one match point by forcing an attack error, but Domincan's Casey Goss ended the match with a kill, as an MSOE block attempt directed the ball out of bounds.

The Stars were extremely efficient offensively, recording just six attack errors in 93 total attacks while compiling 46 kills and a .430 hitting percentage. In addition to the .567 effort in the second set, Dominican hit better than .350 in both the first (.351) and third (.385) sets. MSOE was held to a .198 hitting percentage overall.

Ty Geschke led Dominican with a match-high 13 kills. He also eight digs and two blocks (one solo). Goss added 12 kills, while Kendall Esparza had nine. Landon Kassulke finished with 36 assists and seven digs, while libero Grant Henderson recorded a match-high 14 digs.

Seth Thomas and Callan Harris led MSOE with 10 kills apiece, while Harris added 11 digs. Parker Rings finished with 27 assists and six digs.
