ROCKFORD, Ill. --- The Rockford University athletic department is thrilled to announce the hiring of Jeremy Reigle as its next head men's basketball coach. Reigle has spent the last 12 years in the basketball coaching ranks, including nine years as the head coach at Presentation College, one year as an assistant at Rockford University and two years as an assistant at William Penn University.

"We are extremely excited to have Coach Reigle lead our men's basketball program," Director of Athletics Jason Mulligan stated. "Jeremy has been very successful in recruiting outstanding student-athletes and has proven that he has what it takes to produce a successful basketball program both on and off the court. We believe that his experience, character and enthusiasm will continue to build our men's basketball program and help us to provide a quality student-athlete experience."

During his nine seasons with the Saints, Reigle amassed over 100 wins and became the program's all-time winningest coach. While at Presentation, Reigle coached 16 all-conference players, including a defensive player of the year, the only three NAIA All-Americans in school history, 32 NSAA Scholar-Athletes and five Daktronics Scholar-Athletes. This past year, Reigle led the Saints to their best season in school history. Coach Reigle guided Presentation to its first-ever regular-season conference championship and a program-record 11-3 mark in conference play. The Saints finished the year with a 21-10 overall record, which was the most wins in a single season in program history. In addition, Presentation spent six consecutive weeks in the 2018-19 NAIA Division II Men's Basketball National Poll. Coach Reigle was rewarded for his efforts by being named the 2018-19 NSAA Coach of the Year.

Prior to Presentation, Reigle was an assistant coach at Rockford University for the 2009-10 season. The Regents went 14-12 that year and qualified for the NACC Tournament for the second consecutive season. Despite only being at Rockford for one season, Reigle left an imprint on the program, as he was responsible for both recruiting and coaching one of the top players in the program's history, Robert Malone. Malone scored over 1,000 points, earned all-region status, was twice named all-conference and is still the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference's career leader in points per game (22.6), despite playing just the final two years of his career as a Regent.

"I am very excited and honored to be given the opportunity to return home and rejoin the Rockford University family," Coach Jeremy Reigle remarked. "I would like to thank Dr. Fulcomer, Dr. Worden, Jason Mulligan and the search committee for entrusting me with the future of the RU men's basketball program. There is a great group of student-athletes here at Rockford, and I am looking forward to working with them immediately. I believe this is an exciting time to be a Regent and both my wife and I are thrilled to be a part of it."

Before coming to Rockford, Reigle began his coaching career at William Penn University, where he spent two seasons as an assistant coach. The Statesmen went 50-16 during Reigle's two years on staff and were ranked as high as #2 in the NAIA national poll.

Reigle graduated from William Penn University in 2008 with a bachelor's degree in History and Government.
