NORMAN, Okla. --- Wisconsin Lutheran College senior men's golfer Derick Disch (Greenfield, Wis.) has been named a Srixon/Cleveland Golf All-America Scholar by the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA), the organization announced recently. Disch is the first player in program history to earn All-America Scholar honors.
To be eligible for Srixon/Cleveland Golf All-America Scholar status, an individual must be a junior or senior academically and compete in at least two full years at the collegiate level, participate in 50 percent of his team's competitive rounds or compete in the NCAA Championships, have a stroke average under 79.0 in Division III and maintain a minimum cumulative grade-point average of 3.2. A recipient must also be of high moral character and be in good standing at his college or university.
Disch, a 2019 All-NACC selection, averaged a 78.3 over 19 rounds, the second-lowest scoring average on the team. The senior posted 12 rounds in the 70s, including a season-low 72 on two occasions. A secondary education and mathematics major with a 3.330 cumulative grade-point average, Disch was one of 121 players in Division III and four from the NACC to receive the honor.
