RIVER FOREST, Ill. --- The Dominican University men's soccer team cruised to a 10-0 win over the visiting Lakeland University Muskies on Saturday afternoon at West Campus Field, picking up the 400th win of longtime head coach Erick Baumann.  In his 25th season at the helm of the Stars' men's soccer program, Baumann has an all-time record of 400-100-36, good for a .786 winning percentage.

Baumann becomes just the 21st coach in NCAA Division III men's soccer history to reach the 400 win milestone, getting there in just 536 games, and is one of just eight active Division III coaches with at least 400 victories.

"This is a milestone that couldn't be accomplished without all of the dedicated and talented players that have come through our program and those currently in our program," commented Baumann following the win. "It also could not have happened without all of the dedicated assistant coaches we have had over the years. I want to send a heartfelt thank you to everyone that has supported DU soccer over the last 25 years. This is our milestone to share and continue to build upon."

The Stars left little doubt that this would Baumann's 400th win, scoring in the first minute of play when Isaac Perez buried a penalty kick after the Muskies took down Vicente Castro inside the 18-yard box. The score was the first of two in the game for Perez who now has 12 goals on the season.

Perez's second goal came just ten minutes later as Dominican quickly opened a 2-0 lead.

Nicolo Vitale, Giovannie Ortiz, Castro and Jonathan Hernandez all added goals before the half as Dominican took 19 shots, including nine on frame, in opening a 6-0 lead after 45 minutes.

The Stars kept the pressure on the Muskies in the second half despite going 13 players deep into their bench. Throughout the match, Dominican controlled 65-percent of the possession.

Quintin Eisner opened the second half scoring, knocking in his first of the season in the 56th minute.  Before the half was up, Jesus Lopez, Chris Linkenbach, and Giacomo Parrino all added scores as Dominican scored four second-half goals on ten shots.

In total, the Stars outshot the visiting Muskies, 29-5, allowing just one of Lakeland's shots onto frame as Daniel Dominguez and Hunter Faurbo combined for the shutout, the tenth clean sheet of the season for Dominican.

"It was great to play as many players as we did today and have nine different goal-scorers," said Baumann. "This is a very tight-knit group that celebrates each other's successes and understands that our team goals come first and foremost. We know we still have a lot to accomplish and a difficult road ahead but we are looking forward to the challenge as a team."

The Stars, now 10-2-2 on the season and an unblemished 6-0-0 in Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) play, sit in a tie for first place in the league standings with five regular-season games to play.  Dominican will return to action on Wednesday, traveling to Benedictine University in Lisle, Illinois, for a conference matchup with the Eagles.
