HOLLAND, Mich. --- Dominican University saw its season draw to a close Friday with a 4-1 loss to the University of Chicago in the first round of the 2019 NCAA Division III Men's Soccer Championship at Van Andel Soccer Stadium.

Chicago (12-1-5) jumped on the board early with a goal by Vicente Mateus in the sixth minute.

Dominican (16-3-3) drew even in the 30th minute as Isaac Perez netted his 18th of the season off an assist from Jonathan Hernandez.

The Maroons regained the lead on a late first-half tally by Kameron Bloye, then tacked on two more goals in the second half to provide the final margin.

Chicago held a 19-8 advantage in overall shots and an 11-4 edge in shots on goal.

Aaron Katsimpalis made three saves en route to the victory for the Maroons, while Daniel Dominguez notched seven saves for the Stars.
