ROCKFORD, Ill. --- Jessica Stanek has accepted a full-time position as the Assistant Director of Athletics at Rockford University, Director of Athletics Jason Mulligan announced today. Stanek is stepping away from her duties as head women's basketball coach as her transition to a full-time administrator begins immediately. A search for Rockford's next head women's basketball coach is currently underway, Mulligan said.
"I would like to thank Jess Stanek for all of her hard work during her time as our head women's basketball coach," Mulligan stated. "In her new position as the full-time assistant director of athletics, Jess will continue to oversee compliance and eligibility along with providing leadership in other new areas. Through her diligent work as our senior woman administrator, she has proven to be effective in any administrative area she has been given."
Stanek spent the last 11 seasons as Rockford's head women's basketball coach. The Regents qualified for the NACC tournament four times during her tenure and had multiple all-conference performers. Through last season, Stanek's players have earned 48 NACC Scholar-Athlete awards, 11 all-conference awards, two all-freshman team selections, one NACC Freshman of the Year, one all-region award and one CoSIDA Academic All-District honor.
"I am excited about starting this next chapter in my career and working to continue to move our athletic department in the right direction," Stanek stated. "I am honored to have spent the last eleven years as the head women's basketball coach at Rockford University. I would like to thank all of the players, assistant coaches and families for their hard work, support and dedication to the program over the last decade and look forward to watching the team grow and compete in the coming years!"
