INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. --- Wisconsin Lutheran College sits sixth, while Benedictine University is ninth, in the the most recent NCAA Division III Women's Basketball Central Region Rankings released Wednesday, Feb. 20.
Wisconsin Lutheran (24-1, 19-1 NACC) put the finishing touches on its seventh Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) title in nine years with a pair of victories last week. The Warriors earned the top seed for this week's NACC Tournament and will serve as the host for this weekend's semifinals and final. They will face fourth-seeded Dominican in the second semifinal at 7:30 p.m. Friday evening.
WLC was sixth in the initial set of regional rankings issued Feb. 6, then slipped to seventh in last week's edition of the rankings.
Benedictine (21-4, 17-3 NACC) enters the regional rankings for the first time this season. Responsible for inflicting WLC's lone loss in 2018-2019, the Eagles are ineligible for the NACC Tournament due to their scrapped transition into NCAA Division II at the beginning of academic year and will be competing for one of 20 Pool C berths nationwide.
