HOUSTON, Texas --- Aurora University sits 23rd after Tuesday's first round at the 2019 NCAA Division III Women's Golf Championships at Bay Oaks Country Club.
The Spartans posted an 81-over-par 369 team total over the first 18 holes on the par-72, 5,889-yard layout.
Individually, Becca Haseman posted the team's low round of the day and sits in a tie for 79th place after a 13-over 85. Hannah Schulz is three shots back in a tie for 93rd place after an opening-round 88. Lauren Anderson had two birdies, including one at No. 9 - her final hole of the day - and is tied for 102nd with a 91.
Sarah Isaacs (105) and Madison Erickson (106) are 126th and 127th overall, respectively.
University of Redlands fired a 306 on day one and leads Methodist University and DePauw University by one stroke. A total of nine schools are within 10 shots of the team lead. Centre College's Bailey Plourde holds the medalist lead after posting a 1-under 71.
Aurora returns to the course Wednesday morning for round two, going off the No. 1 tee in a wave beginning at 8:40 a.m. The Spartans will compete in a grouping with UW-Whitewater and Transylvania (Ky.) University.
