Lakeland Women’s Golf Receives WGCA Academic Recognition

CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. --- The 2018-19 Lakeland University women's golf team recorded one of the highest grade point averages among NCAA Division III schools and was honored recently by the Women's Golf Coaches Association.

The WGCA recognized the top 25 teams in each NCAA division as well as the NAIA and NJCAA, and Lakeland was recognized for finishing in the top 25 among Division III women's golf teams. The Muskies posted a 3.739 team GPA, ranked No. 6 among all Division III schools in the ranking. Marietta College posted the top GPA in Division III with a 3.825 GPA.

Head coach Amber Peterson's squad also posted a second-place finish in the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference Championship in the 2018-19 season, and the team also featured five NACC Scholar-Athlete award winners and two all-conference performers. Team members included:
