MILWAUKEE, Wis. --- Dominican University junior Josseline Williams and MSOE senior Shelby Namen were named to the 2018 Google Cloud Academic All-District® Women’s Soccer Teams selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA), the organization announced Thursday.

The award recognizes the nation’s top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. The Google Cloud Academic All-America® program separately recognizes soccer honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.

Williams, a 2017 United Soccer Coaches All-Central Region Second Team selection, currently leads all of NCAA Division III women’s soccer in game-winning goals (11), ranks third nationally in goals (26) and eighth in goals per game (1.3).

A junior nutrition & dietetics major, Williams has posted a 3.70 cumulative grade point average through her first four college semesters, landing on the university’s honors list each semester.

On the pitch, Williams was named the NACC Offensive Player of the Year after helping Dominican to an 18-2-0 overall mark and perfect 11-0-0 record in conference play before winning the 2018 NACC Tournament championship. Williams has scored a Dominican University women’s soccer single-season record 11 game-winning goals, including the game-winner in Dominican’s NACC Tournament semifinal and final wins.

Namen is a biomolecular engineering major with a 3.98 grade point average.

Namen has been a strong force in the Raiders central defense over the last three seasons. This season, she started all 22 games and helped MSOE to a 0.72 goals against average in league play with six shutouts. Overall, the Red & White posted nine shutouts on the season.

A two-time All-NACC First-Team honoree and the 2016 NACC Defensive Player of the Year, Namen added a pair of goals and three assists to the attack this season.

First-team Academic All-District® honorees advance to the Google Cloud Academic All-America® ballot. First-, second- and third-team (if necessary) Academic All-America® honorees will be announced in early December.

The Google Cloud Academic All-District® teams include the student-athletes listed on the following pages and are divided into eight geographic districts across the United States and Canada.

The Division II and III Google Cloud Academic All-America® programs are partially financially supported by the NCAA Division II and III national governance structures to assist CoSIDA with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2018-19 Divisions II and III Academic All-America® programs.
