Jeff Ligney is the NACC's second full-time commissioner, joining the conference effective July 1, 2020. Ligney succeeded founding commissioner Dr. G. Steven Larson, who served as NACC Commissioner from 2006-2020.

Ligney joined the NACC after three years as commissioner of the Capital Athletic Conference (now the Coast-to-Coast Athletic Conference), an NCAA Division III conference based in Fredericksburg, Virginia. Prior to that, he spent 17 years at the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference - an NCAA Division II league based in Bay City, Michigan - where he served in various capacities including director of media relations, associate commissioner for external relations, chief of staff and associate commissioner for internal relations, and, finally, interim commissioner.

Ligney has extensive experience as an athletic administrator, having served for more than 20 years as a coach and conference administrator. While at the CAC, he also served as president of the Mid-Atlantic Region Commissioners Association.

"I would like to thank (Rockford president Dr. Eric) Fulcomer and the rest of the Council of Chief Executive Officers for giving me this amazing opportunity," Ligney remarked. "I am honored and humbled to be able to serve the student-athletes of the NACC. Commissioner Larson has set a high bar. The challenge of enhancing the student-athlete experience is one that I take very seriously. I believe that the NACC has the infrastructure and determination to create new initiatives that will benefit both student-athletes and administrators. I am excited to be a part of the future of the NACC."
