KOHLER, Wis. (naccsports.org) --- Aurora University posted six rounds of 80 or better Sunday to double its overall lead to 34 strokes headed into the final round of the 2025 Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) Men's Golf Championships at Blackwolf Run.
Aurora's
Brandon Burggraf and
Mattias Morris both fired rounds of 1-over 73 on the par-72, 6,670-yard Meadow Valleys course, while also counting a 75 from
Christian Wakeford and a 78 from
Jackson Hulsey en route to a 299 team total in round two.
Aurora leads the team standings with a 36-hole total of 588, 34 strokes clear of the field. St. Norbert College (306-316--622) is second, while Milwaukee School of Engineering (317-312--629) sits four strokes clear Edgewood University (315-318--633) in third. Marian University (318-323--641) is fifth, just ahead of Wisconsin Lutheran College (323-322--645), while Benedictine University (330-329--659), Lakeland University (331-330--661), Concordia University Wisconsin (323-339--662), and Dominican University (no team score) round out the field.
Burggraf had a fairly consistent day, recording one birdie and just two bogeys along with 15 pars en route to his 73. That consistency has Burggraf (72-73--145) leading the medalist race by three strokes over Wakeford (73-75--148). Wakeford had a topsy-turvy day, posting three birdies on the front nine - and another on the back - but finished at 3-over 75 Sunday.
Hulsey (71-78--149) - the round one leader - recorded two birdies but finished with a round-two 78. He is tied for third overall with Marian's
Wyatt Pfeiffer (75-74--149). St. Norbert's
Brendan Lange (74-76--150), Wisconsin Lutheran's
Isaiah Schaser (75-75--150), and Morris (77-73--150) are tied for fifth, while Edgewood's
Raymond Jordan (72-79--151), St. Norbert's D
awson Fish (76-75--151), and MSOE's
Charlie Larson (77-74--151) are tied for eighth.
Monday's final round gets underway at 10 a.m. The initial wave will consist of players from Edgewood, Marian, and Wisconsin Lutheran. The top three teams - Aurora, St. Norbert, and MSOE - will go off next beginning at 10:54 a.m. The final wave - consisting of players from Benedictine, Lakeland, Concordia Wisconsin, and Dominican - will take to the course beginning at 11:48 a.m.
The tournament champion receives the NACC's automatic berth in the 2026 NCAA Division III Men's Golf Championships slated for next May at Mission Inn Resort in Howey-in-the-Hills, Florida.
