Samya Hughes (Wisconsin Rapids, Wis.) have been named Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) Women's Volleyball Student-Athletes of the Week for the week of Oct. 6-12, 2025, as selected by the league's athletics communications professionals.
Defense --- Katie Brisk, Fr., L/DS, Aurora University
Brisk, a freshman libero/defensive specialist, had a stellar week for Aurora, which went 2-0 with wins over Concordia Wisconsin (3-1) and Marian (3-0). Brisk averaged 6.86 digs per set while collecting 30 in the four-set win over CUW and adding 18 more in the three-set victory over Marian. She added an ace, four assists, and a kill during the week as well.
Offense --- Samya Hughes, Fr., OH, Lakeland University
Hughes, a freshman outside hitter, averaged 5.83 kills per set while posting a .388 hitting percentage as the Muskies swept both Rockford and Marian. She posted 19 kills while hitting .452 against the Sabres, then assed 16 kills against the Regents, pushing her season total of matches with at least 15 kills to 10. Hughes leads the NACC and ranks in the top 50 in NCAA Division III in kills per set (3.85).
