MILWAUKEE, Wis. (naccsports.org) --- The football teams from Concordia University Wisconsin and Aurora University learned their postseason fates Sunday, Nov. 16.
Concordia Wisconsin to Host NCAA First-Round Contest
The Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference champion Falcons (9-1, 8-0 NACC) earned the conference's automatic berth in the 2025 NCAA Division III Football Championship and will host Coe College (8-2, 7-1 American River Conference) in a first-round contest on Saturday, Nov. 22. Kickoff is slated for noon from Tomasini Stadium in Mequon, Wisconsin.
The Falcons, who are in the NCAA field for the first time since 2013, are making their fifth appearance overall (2003, 2006, 2007, 2013). CUW is also hosting an NCAA championship game in Mequon for the first time. The Falcons hosted North Central (Ill.) in a 2006 first-round game at Wisconsin Lutheran's Raabe Stadium.
Saturday's contest will mark the first-ever meeting between the Falcons and Kohawks, who received an at-large berth after finishing second in the American Rivers Conference.
The national championship field features 40 teams, with 24 receiving first-round byes. The remaining 16 teams will square off in eight opening-round matchups.
Aurora Selected for Lakefront Bowl
Meanwhile, Aurora (7-3, 6-2 NACC) was selected to represent the NACC in the SmileyCookie.com Lakefront Bowl. The Spartans will face Midwest Conference runner-up Illinois College (8-2, 7-2 MWC) at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 22, at Wisconsin Lutheran's Raabe Stadium in Wauwatosa, Wisconsin.
Saturday's contest will mark the third meeting all-time between Aurora and Illinois College. The Blueboys won the two previous meetings, sweeping a home-and-home series to open the 2014 and 2015 seasons.
Excluding the COVID-impacted Spring 2021 season, this is the sixth consecutive postseason appearance for the Spartans (2019, Fall 2021-present).
