Aurora Wins 2025 NACC Men's Volleyball Crown; Tournament Field Set

MILWAUKEE, Wis. (naccsports.org) --- After posting an 11-1 record against conference opponents in the regular season, Aurora University earned the No. 1 seed and home-court advantage through the 2025 Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) Men's Volleyball Tournament, as the schedule for the league's annual tournament was announced Saturday.

The Spartans (23-4, 11-1 NACC) clinched the conference title with a 3-2 winner-take-all win at Milwaukee School of Engineering Saturday afternoon. It is Aurora's third straight NACC title, but the first they have been able to claim outright. The Spartans will face No. 8-seed Illinois Institute of Technology (11-16, 6-6 NACC) in a quarterfinal Tuesday, April 8.

Despite Saturday's loss, MSOE (12-11, 10-2 NACC) captured the No. 2 seed and will host No. 7 seed Concordia University Chicago (12-14, 6-6 NACC) in another Tuesday quarterfinal. The remaining quarterfinals feature No. 3 seed Benedictine University (15-9, 10-2) hosting No. 6 seed Edgewood College (9-12, 6-6 NACC) and No. 5 seed Marian University (13-14, 6-6 NACC) venturing to No. 4 seed Dominican University (13-10, 9-3 NACC).

Aurora, Dominican, and MSOE have each qualifed for all six previous editions of the NACC Tournament, with the Stars holding the best mark historically in NACC Tournament play at 12-2 all-time with four titles (2018-21-22-24). MSOE is 5-5 all-time with one title (2019), while Aurora is 5-6 all-time and in the hunt for its first NACC postseason crown.

Benedictine (5-4 all-time; 1 title [2023]) and Marian (1-5) are both in the tournament for the sixth time, while Concordia Chicago and Illinois Tech (both 1-1) are making their second appearances in the tournament. Edgewood is this year's lone tournament debutant.

Tuesday's winners advance to the semifinal round on Thursday. The Aurora-Illinois Tech winner will face the Dominican-Marian winner in one semifinal, while the Benedictine-Edgewood winner will face the MSOE-Concordia Chicago winner in the other.

The semifinal winners will meet in the NACC Tournament Championship on Saturday, April 12, which will be hosted by the highest-remaining seed. Information on the title match will be announced after the completion of the semifinals. The winner of this year's championship tournament will also receive the league's automatic qualifying berth in the NCAA Division III Championship.

Team selections for the Division III Championship will be announced Monday, April 14 with NCAA Tournament play starting Thursday, April 17.
