NACC Men's Lacrosse Programs Capture USILA Academic Honors

LOUISVILLE, Ky. --- The United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) announced its Academic Team Awards and Scholar All-Americans for the 2025 season.

Four Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) programs - Aurora University, Beloit College, the University of Dubuque, and Lake Forest College - earned the USILA Academic Team Award for achieving a team grade-point average of 3.0 or higher.

Additionally, Concordia University Wisconsin senior attack Max Esposito and Lake Forest College senior defender Conor Murphy earned USILA Scholar All-America status.

To be eligible for Scholar All-American status, an individual must be nominated by his coach and be a student with a senior year academic standing and a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.0 (4.0 scale). He will have behaved in a manner that has brought credit to himself, his institution, and to college lacrosse both on and off the field. He must also be an All-American, a member of a North/South team, or an outstanding league or conference player. In addition, each Individual is evaluated on a case by case basis by the Scholar All-American committee.

The 2025 campaign saw Esposito lead the NACC in both points per game (5.60) and assists per game (3.75), ranking ninth nationally in each category en route to first team all-league honors and a third consecutive NACC Offensive Player of the Year award. He started all 20 games and finished with 49 goals, 63 assists, and 112 total points — while also collecting 31 ground balls and causing eight turnovers. His seven hat tricks and six games with five or more assists included standout performances like eight assists against Carroll (April 7) and nine points versus Beloit (April 12).

Murphy recently graduated as the Foresters' career leader with 305 ground balls and 194 caused turnovers. The latter figure ranks among the top 10 in NCAA Division III history. He was named Second Team All-Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference in 2025 after earning First Team All-Midwest Lacrosse Conference accolades each of the previous three seasons and MLC Defensive Player of the Year honors in 2024. The double major in history and business is also a two-time member of the MLC All-Academic Team and a 2004 inductee into the Chi Alpha Sigma National College Athlete Honor Society.
