NACC Football Weekly Recap - Oct. 3, 2026

MILWAUKEE, Wis. (naccsports.org) --- Week five of the 2026 Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) season is now in the books, and it saw a battle of the unbeatens and some high-octane offense as the season approaches the halfway mark. 
 
Concordia Wisconsin took down Concordia Chicago at home to win the battle between the two undefeated teams, while Wisconsin Lutheran bounced back from its loss last week by shutting out Eureka.
 
St. Norbert defeated Rockford on the road to remain undefeated in conference play, and Benedictine knocked off Lakeland to remain perfect on the season as well.
 
Aurora (1-3, 1-1 NACC) had the bye this week, and will face Concordia Chicago (3-1, 1-1 NACC) at home next Saturday.

Benedictine 49, Lakeland 13
Benedictine continued its winning ways by using a big second quarter and a strong second half defense to defeat Lakeland at John Taylor Field in Plymouth, Wisconsin. With the win, Benedictine now improves to 4-0 on the season, and 2-0 in NACC play, while Lakeland falls to 2-3, and 1-2 in conference play.
 
After Lakeland fumbled the opening kickoff, Benedictine wasted no time going to work, needing just three plays to get on the scoreboard, with Dino Stephens rushing it in from 14 yards out to give Benedictine the early lead.
 
Lakeland answered with a touchdown of its own, going on a long drive that culminated in Carson Glosny finding Deshawn Hampton in the end zone to tie the game at seven.
 
Both teams scored another touchdown in the quarter, although Lakeland missed its second extra point attempt, meaning that Benedictine went into the second quarter holding a 14-13 lead.
 
The Eagles scored just 15 seconds into the second quarter, when Stephens ran it in again for this third total touchdown of the game, putting the Eagles in front by eight.
 
Lakeland turned the ball over on downs, and another rushing touchdown by Stephens put Benedictine up by two scores. 
 
Stephens found the end zone for the fifth time before the end of the half, this time from six yards out, sending Benedictine went into halftime with a 35-13 advantage.
 
Benedictine added another score in the third quarter, when Marcus Martin connected with Jason Moore for a 12-yard touchdown pass.
 
The Martin-to-Moore connection was good for another touchdown in the fourth, this time for 62 yards, and the Eagles defense prevented the Muskies from scoring any further, giving Benedictine the 49-13 win.
 
Martin was the leading passer in the game, completing 17 of his 21 pass attempts for 232 yards and three touchdowns. Stephens led the game in rushing, picking 200 yards and four touchdowns on the ground, averaging 8.3 yards per carry. Moore was the leading receiver for the game, catching 12 passes for 158 yards and two touchdowns.
 
On Lakeland’s side, Glosny went 23-of-44 for 207 yards and a touchdown. Jontae Lambert was the leading rusher for the Muskies, with 55 yards and a touchdown on five rushes for an average of 11 yards per carry. Lamarious Liggins had six receptions for 97 yards. 
 
Both teams sacked the opposing quarterback once, and Benedictine’s Nick Irion led the game with 10 solo tackles, two of which were for losses. Trayvonne Roberts led Lakeland with nine tackles, all of which were solo.

Concordia Wisconsin 21, Concordia Chicago 14
In the battle of the unbeaten Concordias, it was Concordia Wisconsin that came out on top in what ended up being a defensive battle, holding off Concordia Chicago at Tomasini Stadium in Mequon, Wisconsin. Concordia Wisconsin remains a perfect 5-0, and 3-0 in conference play. Concordia Chicago is now 3-1, and 1-1 in the NACC.
 
The two teams traded the ball back and forth to start the game, before Concordia Wisconsin got on the board first, with Falcons QB Roman Funk ran it in himself from one yard out to put CUW up with just over three minutes left in the first quarter.
 
Late in the quarter, Funk gave the Falcons another touchdown, this one a nine-yard connection to Jack Bradley, to give Concordia Wisconsin a 14-0 lead going into the second quarter.
 
Concordia Chicago wasted no time getting on the board in the second quarter, as Joron Brown rushed it in from the five to cut the Falcons’ lead in half.
 
After CUC fumbled the ball on its own 17-yard line, the Falcons were able to capitalize. Jacob Pugh picked up a 7-yard rushing touchdown to get Concordia Wisconsin’s lead back up to 14. They wouldn’t score for the remainder of the game, but the 21 points they had scored already would ultimately be enough.
 
Neither team scored in the remainder of the second quarter, or in the third, as the two teams traded the ball back and forth via a series of punts and turnovers on downs.
 
With less than a minute to go in the game, the Cougars were able to put some more points on the board. Colton Bosch found Wesley Jackson in the end zone to make it a 21-14 game, but the Cougars were unable to recover the onside kick.
 
However, the Cougars were given a second chance when Alijah Bright fumbled the ball, giving CUC the ball at its own 35 with 34 seconds left in the game. They were able to advance the ball to the CUW 42, but the Falcons defense was able to hold strong and prevent the Cougars from advancing the ball any further before the clock ran out.
 
Funk completed 11 of his 23 pass attempts for CUW, finishing with 118 yards, one touchdown, and one interception. Pugh was the lead rusher for the Falcons, recording 52 yards and a touchdown on 11 attempts, for an average of 4.7 yards per carry. Jack Bradley was the leading receiver for CUW, making four catches for 54 yards and a touchdown.
 
Bosch led the game in passing, going 31-of-51 for 262 yards and a touchdown. Brown led the game in rushing, picking up 86 yards and a touchdown on 30 attempts, averaging 2.9 yards per rush. Manuel Mendoza was the leading receiver for the game, making one catch for 61 yards.
 
The Falcons defense sacked Bosch twice, and forced two fumbles. CUC’s defense picked Funk off once, and forced three fumbles. CUW’s Logan Hartman led the game in tackles, finishing with 17 total, 2.5 of which were tackles for losses. Kadin Stroer led the Cougars with five total tackles.

St. Norbert 28, Rockford 14
In its third game of conference play, St. Norbert had its second straight 28-14 victory, defeating Rockford on the road at Sam Greeley Field in Rockford, Illinois, to remain undefeated. Following the win, St. Norbert is now 3-2 overall and 3-0 in NACC play. Rockford falls to 0-5 overall and 0-3 in conference matchups.
 
St. Norbert got on the board first, with Tanner Hora connecting with Adam Westberg from 47 yards out to give the Green Knights a 7-0 lead.
 
Rockford answered with a long drive of their own, culminating in Ryan Vasavilbaso finding Kenny Moten-Barden in the end zone to tie the game at 7.
 
On the ensuing kickoff, Jacob McVane took it 82 yards to the house to give the lead right back to St. Norbert, although the extra point attempt was blocked.
 
Once again, the Regents answered, and Vasavilbaso picked up his second passing touchdown of the day, this one to Justin Winkler, to put Rockford ahead 14-13 going into the second quarter.
 
The Green Knights took the lead late in the second quarter, with Hora once again finding Westberg, this time from 29 yards out, to give the lead back to St. Norbert. Neither team scored in the remainder of the quarter, and that was the score going into halftime.
 
Neither team scored in the third quarter, which featured a combined six punts by both teams. St. Norbert added another touchdown to their lead in the fourth, with McVane rushing it in from the six and a successful two-point conversion to put the Green Knights ahead 28-14, which would end up being the final. 
 
For the Green Knights, Hora threw just six passes, completing three of them for 76 yards, a pair of touchdowns, and an interception. McVane was the leader in rushing for the game, picking up 159 yards and a touchdown on 31 attempts for an average of 5.1 yards per carry to go along with his kick return touchdown. Westberg was the only receiver for St. Norbert, making four catches for 93 yards and a pair of touchdowns.
 
On Rockford’s side, Vasavilbaso led the game in passing, going 24-of-51 for 354 yards and two touchdowns. Malik Gordon was the leading rusher for St. Norbert, gaining 25 yards on 11 attempts, averaging 2.3 yards per carry. Moten-Barden was the leading receiver in the game, hauling in seven passes for 138 yards and a touchdown.
 
The Green Knights defense sacked Vasavilbaso once, while Rockford’s defense picked up a sack, an interception, and forced a fumble. Nick Junge led St. Norbert with five tackles, while Joey Alvarez had a game-high nine tackles, one of which was for a loss, for the Regents.

Wisconsin Lutheran 70, Eureka 0
After falling to St. Norbert last week, Wisconsin Lutheran bounced back in a big way, defeating Eureka at home at Raabe Stadium in Wauwatosa, Wisconsin, to improve to 3-2 on the season, and 1-2 in NACC play. With the loss, Eureka is now 0-5, 0-3 in conference play, and has yet to record a point.
 
Wisconsin Lutheran set the tone early, with Carson Koehler rushing the ball 48 yards on the first play of the game to put WLC in Eureka territory. Two plays later, he ran it in from the six to put the Warriors on the scoreboard first.
 
The Warriors would then score on their next five consecutive possessions, and the streak would only end when Quivone Mitchell picked Roman Morales off in the Eureka end zone. Wisconsin Lutheran went into halftime holding onto a 42-0 lead, as the WLC defense was able to hold the Red Devils offense to five punts and a turnover on downs in the first half.
 
After Eureka punted to start the second half, the Warriors answered with another touchdown. Koehler ran it in from 39 yards out to grow the WLC lead to 49.
 
The Red Devils were then able to get deep into WLC territory, but Jalen Perera picked off Ethan Velazquez and took it 65 yards in the opposite direction to put the Warriors up 56-0.
 
Wisconsin Lutheran would add another pair of touchdowns in the fourth quarter, and the Warriors defense would complete the shutout to give the Warriors their first shutout since 2012. The 70 points scored by WLC set a new single-game scoring record for the school.
 
Morales led the game in passing, going 14-of 19 for 226 yards, five touchdowns, and an interception. Koehler was the leading rusher for the game, gaining 158 yards and a pair of touchdowns on 14 attempts, for an average of 11.3 yards per carry. Keith Johnson was the leading receiver for the game, recording five receptions for 98 yards and a trio of touchdowns.
 
For Eureka, Velazquez completed 12 of his 22 pass attempts for 81 yards and two interceptions. Dalarian Rose led the Red Devils on the ground, picking up 24 yards on 15 attempts, an average of 1.6 yards per attempt. Kaden Philips was the leading receiver for Eureka, making six catches for 60 yards.
 
The Wisconsin Lutheran defense recorded three interceptions and three sacks, while Eureka’s defense sacked Morales twice and picked him off once. Perera led the game in tackles, making eight of them to go along with his pick-six. Micah Gilcrest led Eureka with five solo tackles.
