MILWAUKEE, Wis. (naccsports.org) --- The Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) has announced its major award winners and all-conference team for the 2025-2026 men's basketball season.

Milwaukee School of Engineering senior guard Mason Dopirak was named NACC Player of the Year, while Aurora University junior center Devon Richardson was recongized as this year's NACC Defensive Player of the Year. Additionally, Marian University guard Marvin Haslett earned NACC Freshman of the Year honors and the MSOE coaching staff, under the direction of Kevin Hurd, was named the NACC Coaching Staff of the Year.

NACC Player of the Year --- Mason Dopirak, Sr., G, Milwaukee School of Engineering
Dopirak, a senior guard, has appeared in 25 of MSOE's 26 games headed into Thursday's NACC Tournament semifinal against Marian, averaging 25.9 points and 6.1 rebounds per game while leading the Raiders to a share of their second NACC title and the No. 2 seed in the NACC Tournament.

He has scored in double figures in 24 games this season. The only exception was MSOE's Jan. 17 against Aurora where he scored only four points in less than five minutes on the court. At the other end of the spectrum, Dopirak scored 30 or more points on five occasions highlighted by a NACC Tournament-record 46 points in a quarterfinal win over Lakeland on Feb. 24. He also set a NACC season-high with 15 made field goals in that contest and just missed a double-double with nine rebounds. Dopirak finished with three double-doubles overall.

One of the top scorers in the nation, Dopirak sits third nationally in total points (647), fourth in points per game, sixth in free throws made (178), eighth in free throw percentage (90.4), 11th in free throw attempts (197), 12th in field goals made (209), and 25th in field goal attempts (411). He ranks either first or second amongst NACC players in each of those categories, leading in field goals, free throw percentage, and scoring average.

Dopirak is the fourth MSOE player to be named NACC Men's Basketball Player of the Year, accounting for five total honors, and the first since Matthew Kirmse in 2019.

NACC Defensive Player of the Year --- Devon Richardson, Jr., C, Aurora University
Richardson, a junior center, has played in 26 games headed into Thursday's NACC Tournament semifinal against St. Norbert. He is currently averaging 14.9 points and 11.3 rebounds per game, while shooting a blistering 66.9 percent (160-of-239) from the field and posting 12 double-doubles.

Richardson has established himself as one of the top big men in NCAA Division III this season, ranking in the top 10 nationally in field goal percentage (third), rebounds (sixth, 294), offensive rebounds (ninth, 3.92 per game), and rebounding average (10th). He currently leads the NACC in blocks (41), blocks per game (1.58), field goal percentage, and offensive rebounds, ranks second in double-doubles, total rebounds, defensive rebounds (7.38 rpg), and rebounds per game, and fourth in field goals (160).

Richardson was also dominant on the boards, recording 10 or more rebounds 17 times, including a NACC season-high 19 against Concordia Wisconsin on Dec. 14.

Richardson is the second Aurora player to be named NACC Defensive Player of the Year. Kyle Pilmer was named NACC Defensive Player of the Year following the 2014-2015 season.

NACC Freshman of the Year --- Marvin Haslett, G, Marian University
Haslett, a guard, has played in all 26 games this season, averaging 12.08 points and 1.69 rebounds per game while leading the Sabres into the semifinal round of the 2026 NACC Men's Basketball Tournament.

He ranks fourth among NACC players in free throw percentage at 83.8 percent (83-of-99) while also shooting 48.6 percent (101-of-208) from the field and 36.3 percent (29-of-80) from behind the arc. Consistently making an imipact defensively, Haslett also posted 33 assists, 27 steals, and five blocks.

Haslett has scored in double figures in 17 games, including four games with 20 points or more. He hit his season high of 23 in a win over Wisconsin Lutheran on Dec. 10, then posted 22 points each in wins over Maranatha Baptist on Jan. 27 and Edgewood on Feb. 4.

Haslett is the second Marian player to be named NACC Freshman of the Year. Mike Keller captured the honor in 2012.

NACC Coaching Staff of the Year --- Milwaukee School of Engineering (Kevin Hurd, head coach)
Currently in his fourth season, Kevin Hurd has guided MSOE to a 19-7 record overall, a share of the program's second NACC title with a 16-2 mark in league play, and the No. 1 seed in the NACC Men's Basketball Tournament. The Raiders are one of the most accurate shooting teams in NCAA Division III, leading the nation in free-throw percentage (80.6 percent) and ranking third in 3-point field goal percentage (39.7 percent) and fourth in overall field goal percentage (50.3 percent).

MSOE ranks second among NACC programs in scoring offense (84.9 points per game), rebounds per game (38.12), rebounding margin (+6.5), assists per game (15.1), and assist-to-turnover ration (+1.27), and third in field goal percentage defense (43.5) and free throws made per game (16.1).
