Abuchi Osuala (men's track) have been named Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) Indoor Track & Field Student-Athletes of the Week for the week of Jan. 5-11, 2026, as selected by the league's athletics communications professionals.
Men's Field --- Temitope Osobamiro, Sr., Benedictine University
Osobamiro, a senior from Aurora, Illinois, won the long jump at the North Central (Ill.) Cardinal Opener with a leap of 6.65 meters (21-10).
Men's Track --- Abuchi Osuala, Sr., Wisconsin Lutheran College
Osuala, a senior from Milwaukee, Wisconsin, broke the Wisconsin Lutheran College school record in the 60-meter dash while winning both the 60 and 200 at the University of Chicago Phoenix Invitational. He topped the 21-competitor field in the 60-meter prelims with a school-record time of 6.93 seconds. Osuala returned to win the 60-meter final in an even faster school-record time of 6.86 seconds. In the 200, Osuala won the 26-competitor event with a personal-best time of 22.68 seconds.
Women's Field --- Jessa Alderman, Jr., Milwaukee School of Engineering
Alderman, a senior from Janesville, Wisconsin, won the shot put at the University of Chicago Phoenix Invitational with a toss of 13.51 meters (44-4) - a mark that currently tops the NACC performance list and ranks fifth in NCAA Division III. She also placed second in the weight throw with a toss of 14.36 meters (47-1 1/2) as the Raiders swept the top four positions and placed five in the top six.
Women's Track --- Samantha Weisner, Sr., Benedictine University
Weisner, a senior from Lockport, Illinois, posted a pair of top-five finishes at the Cardinal Opener hosted by North Central College. She placed fourth in the 3,000-meter run with a personal-best time of 12:02.74, then also took fifth in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:33.04. Weisner's time in the 3K ranks third amongst all NACC competitors.
