Aurora struck first in the second quarter, with Jackson Alcorn finding Demarion Williams for another Spartan touchdown to make it a three-score Aurora lead.
After both teams fumbled the ball, Lakeland got on the scoreboard with a touchdown of its own. Carson Glosny found Deshawn Hampton in the end zone from 27 yards out, cutting Aurora’s lead by seven.
Neither team scored in the rest of the quarter, and went into halftime with Aurora leading 21-7.
The Spartans started the third quarter off strong, scoring a touchdown to get their lead back up to 21 when Alcorn connected with Michael Townsend for a 23-yard touchdown.
