Award Winners Capture NACC Indoor Track and Field Weekly Honors

MILWAUKEE, Wis. (naccsports.org) --- The six Track and Field Athletes of the Meet from last weekend's Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) Indoor Track and Field Championships have been named NACC Indoor Track & Field Student-Athletes of the Week for the week of Feb. 23-March 1, 2026, as selected by the league's athletics communications professionals.

Men's Field --- Ezra Schermacher, Sr., St. Norbert College
Schermacher, a senior from Plymouth, Wisconsin, was named Men's Field Athlete of the Meet at the NACC Indoor Track and Field Championships for the fourth straight year, compiling 28 points behind titles in the high jump (2.06 meters; 6-9) and pole vault (4.65m; 15-3) and a runner-up finish in the long jump (6.84m; 22-5 1/4). 

Men's Track --- Kyan Lynts, Fr., St. Norbert College
Lynts, a freshman from Casco, Wisconsin, shared Men's Track Athlete of the Meet honors at the 2026 NACC Indoor Track and Field Championships after winning the 3,000- and 5,000-meter runs. He won the 5K in 15:14.49, and took the 3K title in a championship-record time of 8:37.05. Lynts, who also earned NACC Freshman of the Meet honors, bested the old record of 8:37.70 set by Benedictine's Marcos Garcia in 2019.

Men's Track --- Ayden Price, So., Edgewood University
Price, a sopohomore from Fall River, Wisconsin, shared Men's Track Athlete of the Meet at the 2026 NACC Indoor Track and Field Championships after winning the 60- and 200-meter dashes. He won the 200 in 21.95 and set a new NACC Championships record in the 60 dash with a clocking of 6.80 seconds. Price broke the record of 6.86 seconds set by MSOE's Evan Ploeckelman during the preliminary heats at the 2025 championships.

Men's Track --- Austin Springer, Jr., Milwaukee School of Engineering
Springer, a junior from Whitefish Bay, Wisconsin, shared Men's Track Athlete of the Meet honors at the 2026 NACC Indoor Track and Field Championships after winning the 800-meter and mile runs. He won the mile run in 4:19.21, and broke his own championship record in the 800-meter run with a time of 1:53.28. Springer broke the record of 1:56.19 he set a year ago.

Women's Field --- Eden Maranell, Jr., St. Norbert College
Maranell, a junior from Howards Grove, Wisconsin, was named Women's Field Athlete of the Meet at the 2026 NACC Indoor Track and Field Championships after winning the long jump and triple jump and posting a fourth-place finish in the high jump. She won the long jump with a leap of 5.60 meters (18-4 1/2) and took the triple jump title with a championship-record leap of 11.70 meters (38-4 3/4). Maranell surpassed the previous record of 11.65 meters (38-2 3/4) set by MSOE's Jerica Kotarak in 2016. She cleared 1.54 meters (5-0 1/2) in the high jump and also ran on St. Norbert's winning 4x400-meter relay.

Women's Track --- Melanie Arvis, Sr., Concordia University Wisconsin
Arvis, a senior from Berwyn, Illinois, was named Women's Track Athlete of the Meet at the 2026 NACC Indoor Track and Field Championships after sweeping the three longest distance events - the mile (5:10.60), 3,000 (10:46.42), and the 5,000 (18:24.88).
