Brandon Mahler (Vernon Hills, Ill.) and Milwaukee School of Engineering junior
Zach Brzezinski (Sun Prairie, Wis.) have been named Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) Baseball Student-Athletes of the Week for the week of March 23-29, 2026, as selected by the league's athletics communications professionals.
This is Mahler's second NACC weekly honor this season.
Pitcher --- Zach Brzezinski, Jr., LHP, Milwaukee School of Engineering
Brzezinski, a junior left-handed pitcher, scattered two hits and three walks while striking out eight in a complete-game effort as MSOE shut out Rockford, 6-0, to open their March 28 doubleheader.
Position Player --- Brandon Mahler, Sr., C/DH, Concordia University Chicago
Mahler, a senior catcher/designated hitter, led the charge for the Cougars offensively last week. He hit .647 (11-of-17) over four games with a 1.118 slugging percentage and a .700 on-base percentage. In a March 25 doubleheader sweep at Dominican, Mahler went 3-for-4 with two RBIs and two runs scored in game one, then was 2-for-3 with a double and a run scored. In the opening game of a March 29 doubleheader at Lakeland, he went 4-for-5 with two home runs and four RBIs. Mahler added two hits and two runs scored in the series finale. He was also clean on 15 chances defensively. Mahler currently leads all NACC players in batting average, slugging percentage, on-base percentage, RBIs, and home runs.
