NACC Announces Outdoor Track and Field Weekly Honors for April 20-26, 2026

MILWAUKEE, Wis. (naccsports.org) --- Concordia University Wisconsin senior Ainara Sainz de Rozas (women's track), Edgewood University senior Kylee Doherty (women's field), Milwaukee School of Engineering junior Sam Sorenson (men's track), and St. Norbert College senior Ezra Schermacher (men's field) have been named Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) Outdoor Track & Field Student-Athletes of the Week for the week of April 202-6, 2026, as selected by the league's athletics communications professionals.

This is the second NACC weekly honor this outdoor season for both Doherty and Sainz de Rozas, 

Men's Field --- Ezra Schermacher, Sr., St. Norbert College
Schermacher, a senior from Plymouth, Wisconsin, won the pole vault at the St. Norbert Midweek Meet on April 23, clearing 5.01 meters (16-5 1/4). The mark, which is a NACC season-best, vaulted Schermacher a tie for ninth place on the NCAA Division III performance list.

Men's Track --- Sam Sorenson, Jr., Milwaukee School of Engineering
Sorenson, a junior from Williams Bay, Wisconsin, finished third overall and was the top NCAA Division III finisher in the 110-meter hurdles at the Drake Alternative hosted by UW-Whitewater. His time of 14.61 seconds broke the MSOE program record and sits 39th on the NCAA Division III performance list. The mark also leads the NACC performance list by .32 seconds.

Women's Field --- Kylee Doherty, Sr., Edgewood University
Doherty, a senior from Cross Plains, Wisconsin, won the javelin at the UW-Whitewater Drake Alternative Meet on April 25. Doherty’s mark of 44.21 meters (145-0) goes down as a school record and is currently the third best mark in Division III. The senior added a second-place finish in the discus throw with a mark of 43.95 meters (144-2) and finished eighth in the shot put with a distance of 12.59 meters (41-3 3/4). 

Women's Track --- Ainara Sainz de Rozas, Sr., Concordia University Wisconsin
Sainz de Rozas, a senior from Madrid, Spain, broke the Concordia Wisconsin and NACC records en route to victory in the invitational 10,000-meter run at the 116th Drake Relays. Her time of 34:02.86 ranks second on the NCAA Division III performance list and obliterated the previous NACC all-time mark of 34:45.80 set by Aurora's Deyanneira Colon Maldonado at the 2025 NCAA Championships.
